The Jubilee Party National Management Committee has given the Secretariat the go-ahead to engage ODM on the likelihood of a pre-election coalition ahead of the 2022 General Election.
This follows various high level consultations within the party as well as the joint NMC and Parliamentary leadership meeting Tuesday morning.
Secretary General Raphael Tuju says the decision springs from an already existing good collaboration between the two parties in Parliament on matters of National interest.
Tuju says the two Party Leaders President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga have also cultivated a working relationship for the good of the Country.
“It’s noteworthy that in the last four years, while ODM has carried out its mandate as official minority party in the Senate and the National Assembly, the party has remain a reliable ally of the Jubilee Party in the passage of critical bills.” He said.
As a result of the decision, Tuju said Jubilee party will write to its coalition partner KANU as is required by their agreement about the development and to seek their constructive engagement on the same.
The NMC and Parliamentary leadership has also authorised the Secretary General to write to Wiper with whom Jubilee has a memorandum of cooperation about the decision of the Party.
Tuju will also inform the ANC Party and the Ford Kenya Party of the development saying doors will remain open for engagement premised on the spirit of fostering National cohesion.
